Mayor Frank Scarpitti hosted his ninth annual Chinese New Year Dinner at Le Parc Dining & Banquet Hall with 1,000 guests in attendance. Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Co-Chairs Regional Councillor Joe Li, Councillor Alan Ho and Councillor Amanda Collucci welcomed everyone to the celebration and fundraising occasion.

Canada 150 and Ontario150 celebration featured Markham’s rich history, sports, arts and culture, agriculture and diversity!

ANDRE DE GRASSE PAN AM ATHLETES

Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti led the celebration of Markham’s Pan Am athletes: sprinter Andre De Grasse, double gold medal winner in 100 m and 200 m sprint; hurdler Sarah Wells who won silver medal in 400 m hurdles and was a part of bronze-medal Canada 4×400 m relay team; and Pan Am fencer Maxime Brinck-Croteau.

ITTF 2017 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP

The 2017 ITTF Women’s World Cup was a table tennis competition held in Markham, Ontario, from 27 to 29 October 2017. The compition were live broadcasted and live stream over the world and with over 10 tv staions in Asia, with on site mobile satellite as well as high speed fiber optic internet connections.
