All Hakkas in the world belong to one family. “If the family lives in harmony, all affairs will prosper” is a domestic discipline of Hakka people. Hakkas from around the world will gather in the city of Markham for a reunion to enhance fellowship, promote harmony, develop shared interests as well as carry forward the Hakka spirit of “endurance and diligence, daring to pioneer and keep forging ahead”. It is also to promote the excellence of Hakka culture which is about hard work and thrift, sincerity and solidarity, advocacy for culture, emphasis on education as well as filial piety.
